I am Wang Ying, a market research director at Shanghai United Assets and Equity Exchange. I entered the School of Humanities and Economics at Hefei University of Technology in 1996 and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in trade economics in 2000 and a master’s degree in economics in 2003. During my seven years of study at Hefei University of Technology, the school motto of “Virtue, Rigor, Integrity, and Creativity” was like a beacon to guide me in the direction of progress.

Virtue serves endurance. Virtue is a guarantee for social stability and harmonious development, and it is also a life goal that everyone needs to pursue in their growth. This requires that we first develop our moral character and improve our moral development in order to have noble morals so that we can maintain our original aspirations and firm ideals in a world of material desires and worldly distractions.

Rigor requires perseverance, a spirit and behavior of persistence, and continuous learning. We live in a modern society where the accumulation of knowledge is accelerating, and information is exploding. Therefore, we cannot easily be satisfied with what we already have but must constantly explore unknown areas and pursue deeper understanding and knowledge.

Integrity is a form of proactive capability. Promoting integrity and simplicity necessitates that we adhere to the principle of seeking truth from facts in education and work, valuing realities, attending to practice, and learning from the truth and core ideas in practice. We must employ truth to guide practice and elevate work efficiency.

Creativity is an inexhaustible source of power that propels the development and progress of a country or nation. Currently, a new round of technological revolutions is brewing and emerging. In this era of fierce technological competition, only innovators can stand out, grow stronger, and eventually win. The Chinese economy must be driven by creativity, as it is the primary force for development. We should accurately identify and respond to changes, actively seek change, and implement a creativity-driven development strategy that provides robust support for the long-term progress of the Chinese economy.

I will be adhering to the school motto of “Virtue, Rigor, Integrity, and Creativity” and strive for a better future.
